Ivanhoe Classic 2021

This year’s Good Friday Classic was held in perfect weather conditions.  The green was running beautifully and no wind. The day was superbly organised by Colin Sutton. Brilliant!  Back after missing last year due to COVID-19.

The Classic was sponsored by  Nelson Alexander and Bendigo Bank.  The club thanks the sponsors for contributions to the day.

Twenty six  teams competed with representation from the following club – Brunswick, Auburn, Eltham, Montmorency, Cobden, Broadbeach, Rosanna, City of Heidelberg, Doncaster, Fairfield, Bundoora, City of Heidelberg,  Greensborough, Hurstbridge,  four sides from Sunbury, Heathmont, East Ivanhoe and Ivanhoe.

The format of the day was 4 games each of 7 ends.  Lunch of fish, chips and salad were served after the 2nd game. Thanks to all those who assisted in the preparation of the lunch. Winners determined by games won, then ends and then shots up.

The competition was fierce with one four game winner only. Second prize was close  with  multiple three game winners.  The prizes were presented by Nick Smith,  Gordon Porter and James Labiris from Nelson Alexander.
